☁️ Hello, this is the "captain" of this blog speaking. I don't think I ever made posts this personal around here, and this is a starter. I know fandom has changed in levels of tolerance regarding certain ships because it doesn't fit their criteria.

I just wanted to let you guys know (it's 26 of you right now, and this blog isn't even a month old— ASTOUNDING!) that this isn't my first time making a ship archival blog... but I do have a nice community around it.

Anons and other users come to the ask box to share their headcanons, submissions and anything without the guilt or burden of having something they like linked to an account, exposed to any hatred coming into the comments.

This blog was made only for myself and my friend, but it has grown so exponentially that right now I need to take care and love my followers too.

I don't want you to shelter your voice, to hide it, just because others are messing with your freedom of speech. Freedom is autonomy, the lack of shame for doing what you want to do.

I want to be that shield, I want for you guys to have a safe space no matter what. I'll take the hit, the blows. My skin is thick enough for it.

That being said, the ask box and submissions are open, feel free to do anything. Remember, even if you don't draw or write, your presence here makes you part of the community. Everyone plays a part. 💙☁️

It’s such a shame he didn’t say that in front of the other overlords, it would have been such a good laugh and maybe the end of the vees?!

Also I love how u write Alastor, beside his pain he hasn’t stop smiling even a second, and let’s be honest his was such a comeback. He definitely knows how to entertain, also I got the feeling that when he attacked velvette he was trying to repay Carmille a little, cause she tried to protect his privacy more than one time during the meeting and yeah Al, Charlie is definitely rubbing off on you.

I wonder how Luci is gonna take this plan of his, cause I don’t think he will accept it with open arms. And I honestly don’t know if Al has something to offer the king of hell to make such a deal …but it’s undeniable that he has a soft denial spot for Al, so who know he might actually go with it👀

I just have a question, are they gonna get together in the end? Or is it just gonna be a long slow burn. Either way I am enjoying this a lot. Can’t wait for more

And LOL yeah I'm glad you picked up on that. Alastor still thinks Vox is referencing working together, not the insinuation that Vox wants something more between them. To Alastor, it sounds like Vox is trying to imply that he can do "so much better" with his alliances; whereas Vox thinks Alastor knows--a least a LITTLE--about Vox's crush, but is playing it off like its nothing, which makes him even more furious.

Hahah I was so excited to write his clapback to the Vee's. He knew that if they showed up, they were going to bring up the fight with Adam, and he needed to be prepared. People start beef with him, but you better damn well believe he'll end it. Carmilla definitely enjoyed the clapback too. For a sinner she certainly has the patience of a saint.

But I also don't think she actually respects the Vee's. They're just entitled, spoiled little children in her eyes. They're a group she doesn't feel the need to expend her energy on, because, well, what's the point? She doesn't have a high enough opinion of them to do so.

Alastor and Lucifer's conversation in the next chapter was very fun to write. These two can't be left unsupervised because it's just going to end in a fistfight. They're constantly ready to throw hands and I love it.

I am writing this with the end goal being them getting together! It will be a slow-burn though 😂 I'm really gonna go into Alastor exploring his ace/aro'ness, what being in a relationship means for him. and what he wants out of a relationship. On the flipside, I'm gonna explore Lucifer's thoughts and feelings about slowly falling for a sinner (who HAS done terrible things) and what he thinks that says about himself--he has had a very negative view about sinners for thousands and thousands of years, and a mindset like that isn't going to change overnight.

So, they're both definitely going to be exploring different parts about themselves that this relationship forces them to address. And I'm very excited to get into it!

I think the tag "Lucifer Fell First But Alastor Fell Harder" is going to be very apt for this fic series.

i just got a slightly incoherent comment berating me for rating Fit For Pearls f/f and not calling it gen, but like, my guy, if you were looking for a gen fic you'd be disappointed with this too. It's a slowburn but it's uhh not gen. i guess this only applies if you read to the end! but given this commenter's evident reading comprehension issues, given all the tags and author's notes and whatnot on that fic right at the beginning, i don't think changing the tags would help. there's nothing wrong with the tags on that fic. it's not the story you wanted it to be but it's clearly fucking labeled. it's probably no consolation that i was also hoping for a different story than it wound up being. but there's really no way to get past all the tags and author's notes and the fucking wordcount of this fic and still honestly be surprised by what you find there, so I have absolutely no sympathy for the small handful now of entitled commenters who are mad that it's not a different story than it is.

I also wanted it to be a lot shorter and more direct and just a simple f/f story, but the draft I wrote that was just that sucked out loud, so I don't really have any regrets.

Also, it's not hard to peer through the bad faith bit of these comments and notice the screaming biphobia. Sorry, I do feel there's pretty good textual evidence in the books anyway for Ciri being bi and that's a thing I, also a bi, wanted to explore, so I've tagged for that and if it upsets you, you can fuck right along and read something with less bi cooties I guess. I never got my cootie shot and it's too late for me. Save yourselves.

Hilariously, the very first shitty comment I got on FFP when I started publishing it was a pair of bad-faith jerks who wanted me to reassure them that I wasn't going to overlook Ciri's "canon relationships with men" or somesuch phrasing, all of which in the books are hilariously noncon and gross, so if my spite meter were better-calibrated I would have made the story purely f/f. But unfortunately I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my bi little soul, and I'm not saying it's anything deep. (But I was struck by book!Ciri's wild curiosity-mixed-with-revulsion about sex with men, which like, I also was a bi who had my first sexual relationship with another girl and thought it was great but also was like But What Is In His Pants Tho, Is It Gross Or Do I Want To Touch It I Really Don't Know, so I super related to that and wanted to explore it.) And beyond that, for fic purposes, I have the same disappointing-to-some tendency very common in fandom where I see a vaguely man-shaped blorbo and want to chew him and shake him like a dog toy, so i've indulged myself in that here and that's just what it is.

okay so first of all - i use the block button so loosely on here bc there’s no mute function and blacklisting a url would just bog my blacklist down. once again. pls staff a mute button for when it’s not that serious. but i will block someone, then feel bad because i notice my moots reblog them a lot and i'm like "oh they're not that annoying i was just in a bad mood" and unblock. there's only one (1) take i leave someone on permablock for. every other take i find particularly rancid or annoying is all stuff i just check before i follow rather than blocking over (which is why if u don't have searching on your blog, you'll see me liking your stuff over the span of months before following. i have issues!!! aldjf).

i specifically check for that one gifset that’s like “the direwolves predicting their starkling’s fate” that has sansa getting her head chopped off. if they have it on their blog, it's like 99% likely i'm about to permablock. it’s not only a silly prediction, it’s one made by people who are deeply projecting onto sansa. as she’s my favorite, i think that’s dumb obviously lol. BUT i check for it bc like. U All Know That Group of Arya Stans. i know you know because they’ve commented on at least two of your posts with the most bizarre take you’ve ever seen. i reply when they comment on my stuff (usually just once tho & the people who delete right away are valid) but i’m not out here LOOKING for them lol, i’m actively avoiding it, and That Specific Gifset is a good litmus test for whether a Crazy Stan Groupie just hate followed me or something. also, One Of That Group, as in not just a groupie, has me blocked on this blog AND my main one which i know bc i can’t reblog from half those source blogs they run aksjdj so if i notice someone’s real involved with that group, i just pre-emptivly block bc if i can’t even reblog half of what someone is posting what’s the point there 🤧🤧

Fandom etiquette post covid is ABYSMAL and I'm blaming Tik Tok and Twitter for it.

Like I'll be on Pinterest and it's a fanart of Rise! Mikey and Donnie playing video games and half the comments are like "Look at this BROTHERLY LOVE!!!1! No t-cest here!!!"

And it's so annoying because, like, obviously there's no t-cest in the post, but why do these people have to scream it in the comments every time? Like if you're worried about potential t-cest just... DON'T INTERACT???

Or on Ao3, where they straight up do not read tags, but read the fic, and then get mad at the author for OOC or Dub-Con or Non-Con or violence or whatever, and they're trying to report the author for it??

Or the CONSTANT "this story has mild dub-con but I don't support it as an author, it's part of the story!!" in the A/N of a fic like... since when did fandom have to be soooo sooo kid gloved??

Or the entitlement that comes to what the human form of a non-human character should look like, when there isn't really a cannon human form. AND! IF THERE WAS? People will 👏still 👏have👏headcannons👏 but these new age fandom-police losers will straight up death threat a person for a headcannon because they are so anal about things being cannon they're SUCKING THE FUN OUT OF IT!

They're straight up not tagging things properly on Ao3 because they're so morally good that they wrote "rape" like "r*pe" to censor it, but now people who actually had that tag blacklisted are seeing that content again all the time because "r*pe" ISN'T HOW TO PROPERLY TAG SOMETHING.

Like 10 years ago, people headcannoned Optimus Prime as black, some headcannoned him as white, some headcannoned him as Asian, and if we didn't agree with any of the headcannons, we fucked off and didn't harass the OP for their headcannon. It was a norm (that I believe was better respected back then) that if you didn't like something, you didnt interact with it, you could click away to another thing! But now? If any person makes a headcannon that's different from what these people think the norm should be regardless of whether or not it's cannon, that person is going to be TORN APART. If your headcannon is different from the "fanon norms", you must be morally wrong and you must be a horrible person.

It does make me feel like there is something wrong with me or like in off putting when i see several big blogs talking to each other, boosting each other. But then I drop in, just say hi to be friendly, only to be ignored. When they are literally responding to various anons or other people.

It seems like they want to talk to everyone else but me. Which has me feeling like I'm in the wrong, I'm bothersome and unwanted in the fandom space. They don't have to talk to me, but my feelings are still gonna be hurt at being shunned by 90% of the blogs I try to interact with.

It does kill my motivation since I don't want to be seen as someone who just posts. I want to be seen as a friend and someone to talk to.

I understand that some people get along better than others. But damn so many people are having this problem it seems like. it’s actually tiring. ofc, me having 3k followers — i am suuuuper grateful, not complaining much, but i also know how it feels. my notifications are super dry except for mainly likes, my dms are like a desert, inbox is 98% only of anons who drop requests and then leave without leaving anything else. no one to talk to, except for people who leave a comment every once in a while :/

Ok first of all I loved it!! You captured Ghost well, lots try to make him too gruff and not enough soft, there’s a balance between gruff, hard as nails soldier and soft, loving man that a lot of people don’t get right and I believe you nailed it!! Please, i don’t want to pressure you or anything, final decision is totally up to you and what you feel comfortable with but if you start writing for Ghost, even just what you come up with and not taking requests… my little heart will explode with love 💕

Haha I get what you mean tho! Yeah I see Ghost very much as like a guy.

Like he's got his tragic backstory™️ and PTSD and what not but he's not super like overly emo anything. I see him as always caring about his team and ensuring that level of safety. He's def got that more like chill side to him where he jokes about. I think a lot of people write his character wrong because they hadn't actually played or interacted with any of the games. They just play him to that cookie cutter broody type which really sucks.

Also people babify Gaz way too much?? (What's up with that, has anyone else noticed that?) Like sure he's newer to the squad and somewhat younger but that man. Dudes lethal af.

Personally I watched a walkthrough of the game and have a friend that I watch sometimes in PVP. A while ago one of my friends also showed the end of MW2, the original one through discord so I kinda got that feel for the original version of Ghost aswell. He genuinely cares so much for his team, oof that scene with Roach ... Fuck man.

In terms of writing, idk if I will take requests for COD quite yet, I'm quite busy with my housing commissions and I just had a client show interest for me doing another house. Then I also have like I think about 8 requests in my inbox for r6 at the moment. So I certainly have a lot going on.

I do like some of the COD boys a lot. I'm a big fan of Ghost, Soap, Price and Alejandro in terms of romantic parters. Also love some poly Ghost and Soap. So if I were to take requests or write it would be for them. To be honest I've been into it for a long time I just don't really like the COD fandom on Tumblr as it's very... Tiktoky. There's a lot of entitlement and treating writers like a commodity. A lot of people spamming and incorrect tagging and I've heard that some of the 'bigger' writers suck to talk to. So I've been sorta waiting for the hype to die out before I started writing. Waiting for well all the people who are here for 'hot emo man' to move on.

So there's a bit of conflict there but I do eventually plan on writing more COD in the future. I just don't know when.

Me thinks, you using general tags is what attracts the rude people in your blog? If you want to target the same people who interacted with your posts when you didn’t use the general tags, use that same exclusive tag again. Idk I feel like people are getting triggered for nothing (not you but the people on your inbox stating their opinion on your concern). They had no reason to come to your blog, they had nothing to do with it initially. but with the general tags, they see it, then they give their unsolicited rude opinion, then you get extra rude people aside from those who disrespected you in the first place.

Idk if I got my point across? It’s like the people infiltrated your safe space. They’re inside it. But you are talking to the people outside of it. So instead of fighting just the people inside, you also put out an open invite to the people outside.

Tho don’t get me wrong, I get you, you want to be heard, respected, and acknowledged. And I truly hope you get your safe space in this hellhole. Just real worried, bc dealing with aholes here could be very fucking draining. Yet, ( I realized while typing) how can you raise awareness without that risk? And I believe it’s also the reason why you want it to be seen by as many people as possible. So that the stigma, entitlement, and misunderstandings from the others could be eradicated. I'm not even a writer and the tags on that poll hurt my feelings too. Some of those were so aggressive that I felt so bad, like I get having preferences but some of those people got really weird and rude about it... when in reality they all should be thankful that they are reading smut fics for free!!! And I bet that some of them don't even reblog the fics they like to give a boost to the writer, and they have the audacity to even complain about come/cum... embarrassing

First of all, I know I said "while we weren't here", but by "we" I didn't mean the Jewish community as a whole - someone corrected me in the tags of a reblog and they're correct, there was consistently a Jewish community living in the land of Israel ever since the existence of the kingdom of Israel - I meant "we" as in "diaspora Jews who made Aliyah around the last 150 years".

Second, do you have a source on them actually being descendents of Israelites? I heard so many people claim that, or that they're descendents of Canaanites, or whatever - but I also recall seeing actual sources that they're not genetically distinctive from Syrian Arabs or Egyptian Arabs. I just want to know where you got that information from, I'm not saying it's necessarily true or false.

I don't think you understand tho how that's actually irrelevant to the discussion. You're looking at the wrong facts.

What's relevant is:

The culture of the two groups.

The ancestry of the two groups.

The options the two groups have in the modern day.

I'm not an expert on Palestinian culture. I have never claimed to be. I cannot tell you how distinct it is compared to Jordanian culture or Egyptian or Lebanese. And especially, I cannot tell you how tied it is to the land of Israel-Palestine.

But jewish culture? It's directly tied to the land. You cannot celebrate Pesach without mentioning Israel, you cannot get married without remembering your love of Jerusalem, we are Am Yisrael, we are the children of Judea, we came from the land of Israel and the land of Judea. The language of most of our prayers and of our Torah came from there, most of our rituals include it, it's directly tied to Judaism.

By the ancestry of both groups I mean the current people living in the land, and both groups have been there for multiple generations. I believe a person being born somewhere should grant that person the right to live there, so personally I don't care even if someone proved to me rn that every single palestinian is actually a descendant of someone who came from another land about 200 years ago, I'd still believe they have a right to live there and have a country. Even if before Israel's independence they denied the label of "Palestinians", I still believe in their right to have an independent country called palestine and exist as Palestinians.

And with somewhere to go - Jews have faced pogrom after pogrom in our years of exile, and Palestinians are barely accepted as refugees in the neighbouring arab countries. Both groups have nowhere to go.

Palestinians being genetically related to Canaanites or Israelites doesn't matter. Even if they aren't it doesn't make them less entitled to have independence on the same land. And I'm not so sure they are, because Arabs colonized the middle east, and Palestinians are mostly also Arabs. You can admit that without it taking away from the right of modern day people to live in their countries.

Wanna really argue what came first? The kingdom of Israel came first, with the expulsion of the Jewish communities it was renamed Palestina to try to erase our connection to it, the name was kept for the region until the political zionist movement started trying to reclaim the land, and then when both Israel and Palestine got the opportunity to declare independence on their own part of the land - only Israel did.

You can't tell me palestine came first and then ignore the origin of the name palestine and the origin of the name Israel. There's a reason why Israel of today is called Israel and why palestine of today is called palestine.

Don't nitpick what facts you wanna follow. Support palestine but use the full truth to do it. Their 'side' doesn't need to be morally pure to deserve support. Fuck if Israel is morally pure ik a jar of pickles. I still believe in Israel's existence - I just think our government should go to jail and not that all of Israel should mass immigrate to Poland. And Palestinians aren't morally pure either, Hamas isn't ever the only terrorist organisation operating under palestine's name, but I still believe palestine should exist.

Do the antisemites that invaded the pro-palestinian movement know the origin of the word Palestine is from the Hebrew root פ.ל.ש, the root for the word invaders? how can't stiles owe the truth to scott? they're friends? they're best friends? now it's unfortunate that that truth just so happens to be a traumatic event he went through, but it's not like i expected him to go into the most minute painful details of it right there and then when he was still obviously raw from all of it. like you said he is entitled to choose how much of his trauma he wants or doesn't want to share with scott, but i'll argue there was a need there to tell him the gist of it at the very least. and a simple "donovan tried to kill me, and i had to kill him first to save my life" would have sufficed.

as for that isaac & scott scene, yeah, it was just bad, period. it was supposed to show the darkness in scott’s heart after their pseudo death / actually, both posey and the production made it abundantly clear that scott's perfectly in control when he repeatedly assaulted isaac and that he abused isaac due to his own jealousy and possessiveness, and not because "the nemeton made him do it", which is just a cheap fanon excuse. and scott never showed an ounce of remorse or apologised for it either

saying that stiles didn't agree with scott's comment is being of such of bad faith, i just had to gif that moment despite my amateurish skills.

so for context, scott indeed says "I knew, sooner or later, one of us was going to get a little too much blood on our hands. I half thought it was gonna be Malia." and this is stiles supposedly denied reaction:

you know what is fanon interpretation? this: “ scott was trying to make stiles' and malia's traumas all  about him”.

i mean, did you even listen to what scott was saying? he was trying to take responsibility for their traumas, recognizing them for the painful and unfair experience it was. he was saying “i wish it had happened to me instead, because it should have happened to me, and i’m sorry it didn’t.” he was apologizing for their traumas because he believes he played a part in it. and he spells that out pretty explicitly, like come on, you can recognize at least that much.

as for that scott & isaac scene, i said all i needed to say on it. i’ll just add that independently of what posey and the production said after the fact, i can understand the purpose of a scene all by myself. and of course scott was acting on his jealousy. the darkness from the nemeton didn’t just come from nowhere, it just amplified the darkness that was already there, and made them act on it in a way they wouldn’t have done before.

but anyway, once more, for anyone seeing this and taking issues with my posts, i’m not interested to continue this discussion any longer. i do like scott mccall and do believe he was wronged by the show and other characters at times, and i’m not about to bend over backwards writing you guys an essay on why i think that.

that said, you’re completely free to disagree with that, however strongly, obviously. but if you can’t stand to see opinions different from yours, again, feel free to block my correctly tagged posts, or my blog entirely.

There's nothing wrong with complaining about notes though? Nobody really creates only for notes. They love something and want to share it with others, and it's disappointing when nobody cares about what they love. It's probably good that they are complaining because they will likely keep on creating after the vent. Just block them if they annoy you that much, but you'd miss the chance to support them unless you think they are lesser and unworthy because of the note complaints. You also can't really deny the popularity aspect of tumblr. Popular blogs will get thousands of notes while unknown ones can struggle to get even 100 within the same fandom. I bet half of the gifmakers that don't complain run more established blogs.

Speaking generally here, I don't think people ONLY create for notes, I just think that there's a very strange preoccupation with getting a lot of attention for your work. Which like. I get that. I wish more people would pay attention to mine sometimes, and it can be disappointing if I've put a lot of work into a gifset but it doesn't seem like many people care. But I think that the notes I get are very proportionate to the current popularity of whatever I'm giffing, so I usually go into it with realistic expectations. And I mainly do it because it's fun! So it's fine with me if it "flops." Still, I absolutely see the appeal of getting a lot of notes lol. And it can be very perplexing when it seems like you did everything right but your post doesn't get any attention.

I just don't know what ppl are expecting half the time. Even for a more popular fandom it's nobody's fault if YOUR post doesn't get much attention. The tag is probably just very full, or you didnt post at the right time, or you didnt use the right tags (though I've heard the tag feature is kinda busted. Idk if that's true or not tho), or any number of factors. And that can suck but it's not like there's a targeted attack against you.

A lot of people also make their vent posts super guilt-trippy, which is where I think my problem with it truly lies. It's not just complaining about notes, it's making people feel bad about... What exactly? Not reblogging a post they didn't want to reblog? Not engaging with something they're not into? Being offline and not seeing it? What do you want from them exactly?

Even popular blogs complain, which comes off as even more entitled honestly. They probably do it less often but I haven't kept close track. Also... They get more exposure for the same content as a smaller creator bc that's how having a high follower count works? so idk what your point is?

I think it's fine to complain every once in a while if it frustrates you. Whatever. My personal rule is that I won't (saving once or twice bc I'm human lol). This person was doing it too much for my taste so I just unfollowed them. I still like their content so I'll just reblog it stuff separately.

Can you please/ tell us your/ list of least/ favourite/ jobs for Song/ Lan to have

(in fanfic - u said it in some tags and it intrigued me - I didn’t know if the hexameter thing was serious so here is dactylic hexameter)

First of all, I cannot believe you wrote this in dactylic hexameter, I am so impressed. The hexameter thing is indeed a joke (maybe I should mark it as one?), but you get a medal for the effort. I can't not give you the list now, anon.

I am going to put this under a read more, for the following reason: I know how much random people on the internet disliking your headcanons/writing choices can fuck with your head, so if you write MDZS fic and don't feel 100% confident about your Song Lan choices, you can skip this. Disclaimer that 1) I am a random person on the internet 2) I do not own this character and have no idea how MXTX thinks about him, so my interpretation isn't any more or less subjective than anyone else's 3) I have some pretty unpopular opinions when it comes to dear Zichen. Every read (or reinterpretation!) of a character is equally valid, you are entitled to disagree with others, and I have read fics with all of these Song Lan jobs that I enjoyed immensely.

Anyways, the list. I'm going to try to explain why I dislike these, and say what I might like about them. Those are in no particular order, and they're all things I've seen multiple times.

Cop. This one's a bit of a mixed bag already - Song Lan wants to help others and make the world a better place, and I think that he has a bit of a... rigid idea of justice, and he does prosecute criminals (well, one specific nine-fingered criminal) in canon, so I can see him join the police for idealistic reasons. And I would love to read a fic with cop Song Lan that explores his sense of justice! Maybe a Songxue one! And I have read fics where Song Lan is a detective, and that I can see! Generally tho, I don't really like it for the following reasons: First of all, ACAB. (Though how much of an indicator of general bastard-ness joining the police is kind of varies by setting.) But Song Lan, in canon, is someone who actively disagrees with the system and tries to change it. He leaves his temple for no reason other than that he agrees with a pretty boy that the very system the great sects/clans operate on is fucked up. There's no other character who does this without being pushed out of the system in some way or already not fitting into it, except for maybe Mianmian, and Song Lan's goal is to create an alternative system. And I like to see a bit of that aspect of his character in my Modern AU Song Lans, so I don't vibe with him having an inherently system-conforming job that in many countries has, uh, the kind of connotations it has.

Soldier. This is just the same thing as above, just that the system-conforming part is even heftier here and it's way harder to re-frame joining the military as helping people if you're already not very conservative. Unless he got drafted, I can't see Song Lan as a military guy at all, sorry.

Security guard. This one's less about political attitudes and more about this being a job that potentially requires you to have a lot of body contact with random people, and Modern AU Song Lan does not have a sword at his disposal that could help him keep his distance. I do think that he would choose his job regardless of his touch aversion if it's something he believes in - being a rogue cultivator is probably not very comfortable compared to living in a temple when you're mysophobic! - but there isn't really much to believe in here that imo would outweigh the touch aversion. Also, I don't really like portrayals of Song Lan that cast him as The Muscle (And Not The Brains), and I feel like this is kinda the same trope. That being said, Song Lan Mall Cop feat. Xue Yang, the guy who keeps breaking shop displays for fun, is an AU I kind of want now. Context is key.

Lawyer. Another mixed bag! I am very here for human rights lawyer Song Lan, or for him advocating for justice for individual people! This is an excellent Song Lan job that hits a lot of buttons for me! But I see a lot of corporate lawyer Song Lans, and I just don't think that he would sell his soul to capitalism like that. I also don't think Xiao Xingchen would be attracted to a corporate lawyer.

Anything gym-related. This is just the mysophobia point again. I am vaguely grossed out by gyms, and I am not mysophobic. But he would probably make a decent instructor, and he's canonically an excellent swordsman, so I can kind of see him in a coach role. (Suggestion: yoga teacher Song Lan! Or, like, guy who does tai chi lessons for elderly people in a park Song Lan. Here's a nice Songxiao meet cute.)

Anything that makes him more than moderately wealthy. This is more of a general pet peeve related to the fact that I really vibe with the whole Yi City crew not being part of this rich, important elite sphere the rest of the characters move in. Also, Song Lan was raised by monks, so I like somewhat ascetic vibes for him.

Architect. This wouldn't even make the list, because I don't really have anything against it. He might do well in this line of work, but it's also not something I'd associate with his character traits. So, neutral Song Lan job. Only that he is an architect in every second fic I see, to the point where it's almost part of his fanon, and I am completely baffled by that. Why? Does he have the kind of face that many people look at and think, "Ah, yes. He designs buildings"? Maybe he does. Maybe the traits people generally associate with architects are "kind of boring" and "resting bitchface". But I am baffled!!!

So, that's the list! Let me end this post by telling you about the funniest Xue Yang job I've seen so far: there's that one fic where he works at Lush and is really weird about it. Delightful.
